Small Habits That Make Me Feel Healthy

December 21, 2015 By Loubna

The new year is only a couple of weeks ahead. While I was thinking of what kind of new resolutions can I go for this year, I thought I would share with you few tips for a healthier lifestyle.

I’ve been up and down with my diet in my early twenties. After many years of struggle, I am finally in a place where I can make “healthier life choices”. It’s a daily process, you need to be consistent but the benefits are endless. You will never regret being healthy, I promise!

Drinking water. I know everybody’s telling that same old advice, but honestly drinking more water changed my life. I use to drink everything when thirsty but water. The first change I noticed is a bright and clear skin! It also helps a lot with weight loss.

Walking instead of driving. When distances are not too long, I try to walk. It won’t replace your gym session, but it’s a great start.

Eating more veggies and fruits. I use to hate vegetables so it was quite a challenge. I started including veggie in my smoothies and juice and since I really like their taste. Now, I can eat a plant-based meal without even grinning.

Snack on dates, nuts or fruits. You know those cravings in the middle of the afternoon (or anytime really) when all you want is a chocolate bar or a bag of chips. I use to eat at least a chocolate bar a day and the main reason is that I didn’t really have the choice. Now I always have in my bag a little container with either nuts, dates or homemade energy balls (recipe on the blog soon)

Cooking at home. I enjoy cooking but I am also a very lazy person, so this one resolution was hard. Instead of running to the closest restaurant for lunch or calling for pizza delivery, get up and cook. it’s not that hard, believe me, and you can get tons of tasty, fast and healthy recipes online. Plus cooking at home will save you money.

I have some pretty tasty healthy recipes on the blog here, here and here.

Coconut oil is my new BFF. Apart from being an amazing multi-tasker beauty-wise, it’s also very beneficial for our body to consume coconut oil. If you don’t like the taste, you can find an unflavored coconut oil very easily.

Drinking tea. Drinking water can sometimes be boring, so you can be all fancy and make Spa infused water or just drink tea. Tea has a lot of benefits for the body, taste great and you can find fantastic flavored teas on the market.
