Moroccan honeycomb pancakes - Bghrir. These delicious pancakes are fluffy, chewy and soft! They only require a few ingredients and definitely worth trying!

  • 4 Cups Warm Water
  • 2 Cups Semolina
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1/2 Tbsp Active dry yeast
  • 1 Tbsp Baking powder
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp Maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  1. Add all ingredients in a blender starting with the water and blend for about 2 min or until everything is well combined.

  2. Leave the batter to rest for 1 hour.

  3. Heat a non-stick frying pan on medium heat, and add a scoop of your batter. Make a uniform layer of pancake.

  4. Cook on medium heat for about 3 to 4 minutes on one side only. They are done when holes on the surfaces of the pancakes are fully formed and the surface is dry.

  5. Cover them with a clean kitchen towel to keep warm and soft. Repeat until done.
